Although he making headlines about his new holiday collection, Merry Christmas, Baby, Rod Stewart is returning to rock in a big way. His first rock album in over six years, tentatively titled, Love The Life You Live, which is due out early next year, will feature the first original songs that Rod has recorded in well over a decade.
Rod explained to us how the outpouring of new material came to happen: "About a year ago I was sitting out, sitting in my house in England and my good friend Jim Cregan came around and said, 'C'mon, let's try and write a song' -- I said, 'No, I can't be bothered, those days are over.' So, we sat down, I started humming a melody and he took it away and sent it back and he said, 'Listen, this is pretty good.' So, I wrote some words to it. And ever since then, it's been, like, f lowing like a river. Y'know, the songs just keep going."
