Bon Jovi has just announced the first dates of its 2013 Because We Can - The Tour. So far, only the band's Canadian arena dates are on the books, with Bon Jovi kicking things off on February 13th at Montreal's Bell Centre. Upcoming shows will soon be announced for arenas and stadiums in the U.S., Europe, the Far East, Africa, Latin America, and Australia. Bon Jovi will be releasing its 12th studio album, What About Now, sometime in the spring. The set marks the band's first all new set since 2009's The Circle.
Jon Bon Jovi told us that it's not enough to simply enjoy being in the band -- he needs to enjoy the guys in the band itself to wanna hit the road with Bon Jovi: "I think that we are still in a mentally healthy place and at this point in our careers, if we're not mentally healthy and enjoy each other's company, there ain't no money in the world that's gonna make us go to work. If I can't laugh with the guys and want to go out to dinner and have a drink, or what have you, then I ain't here, I'm gone -- and so are the guys."
Richie Sambora feels that having over 25 years under their belt is a crowning achievement for Bon Jovi: "Y'know the great thing about Bon Jovi fans now I think there's multi-generational fans that we do have at this point. There's probably three generations of Bon Jovi fans. We've been around for almost three decades now. So, there's the new kids that thing that we're a new band that are following us for maybe two or three records. And there's the people that have been following us since the inception of this organization."
