You're going to be hearing a lot of the Who during the World Series between the San Francisco Giants and Detroit Tigers. Ultimate Classic Rock reported that the band's classic tunes will be used throughout the games, which will be "edited and matched to in-game play, as well as used in game promos, during highlight shows and in custom web content." Who fans will also be hearing a few custom mixes of the band's tracks created especially for the World Series games.

 

If the music isn't enough to drive home the fact that the Who are heading back out on the road, the sportscasters will be plugging the band's road dates behind their revival of Quadrophenia, and will "work the band's songs into their commentary, as well as promote their upcoming tour, with contests for tickets and autographed albums on Fox's website."

 

Pete Townshend explained that the band's onstage chemistry, now generated by himself and surviving member Roger Daltrey, remains a mystery: "One of the problems that we have in the Who, is that the dynamic, the dynamic tension that we create on the stage is of an order that neither Roger, nor I, really properly understand. It just sort of happens. And we don't really know what it is that we're dealing with. It's like a mystery."
