Frankie Valley & The Four Seasons To Play 50th Anniversary Broadway Run
Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons will celebrate the group's 50th anniversary by performing their first Broadway residency. The group's New York City stand will take place at the Broadway Theatre, and will run from Friday, October 19th through Saturday, October 27th. Frankie Valli said in a statement: "I am honored to have been able to spend my life doing what I love to do. I've performed around the world in every size theater imaginable, but it has always been my dream to play Broadway."
Valli says that of all his hits, he was most surprised by the Four Seasons' first Number One "Sherry," which topped the charts for five weeks: "We recorded it, we didn't have a record deal yet and Bob Crewe went and shopped a record deal and made a deal with a company in Chicago called Vee Jay Records. Vee Jay put it out and it didn't look like it was going to be an immediate hit. We were having difficulty even getting it played in the beginning. And then all of a sudden it went from nothing to Number One."
