Meat Loaf has just announced four new dates to his fall itinerary. The new stops include shows in Cedar Falls, Iowa; Cleveland, Ohio; London, Ontario; and New York City. Meat Loaf is touring behind his latest album, Hell In A Handbasket. The album, which is his followup to 2009's Hang Cool Teddy Bear set, features appearances by rapper Chuck D. on "Blue Sky/Mad Mad World/The Good God Is A Woman And She Don't Like Ugly," along with a reunion of his fellow Celebrity Apprentice cast mates -- Trace Adkins, Lil Jon, and Mark McGrath -- on "Stand In The Storm."
Although obviously not thrilled with fans being turned off by change, Meat Loaf told us he understands that there's a fundamental difference in the material on his late couple of albums as opposed to the Jim Steinman-written Bat Out Of Hell trilogy: "A lot of the Meat Loaf fans that have bought this record really like it. Some of the others go, 'Oh, it's not Jim Steinman -- we can't do it.' Jim Steinman's very ethereal. Jim Steinman's very dreamlike. This album is very organic, very Earth-bound. The Jim Steinman lyrics to me have always been somebody sitting in a room by himself wishing that was his life. (Laughs) It's like a padded cell kind of thing. Steinman's stuff, you can't reach out and touch it. You can only fantasize about it. This stuff is very organic, very Earthy. It, it's dirty."
