Some Quick Takes On The Grateful Dead, Cheap Trick, Ringo Starr And Many Other Artists
An arrest warrant was issued for Grateful Dead drummer Mickey Hart. According to The Hollywood Reporter. Hart is wanted for allegedly assaulting a concert-goer on Saturday (September 8th) at a Mickey Hart Band show Harrodsburg, Kentucky at Terrapin Hill Farm. The warrant was issued following the alleged victim filing charges against Hart.

Semi-retired Cheap Trick drummer Bun E. Carlos is up in arms over not being included on the band's new track on the new charity disc, A Very Special Christmas - 25 Years. Carlos has been absent from the band's drum stool since 2010, with Rick Nielsen's son Daxx handling the drum duties. Carlos told Billboard he feels snubbed by the band recording without him, saying, "I'm a full member of Cheap Trick in all respects. Solely as an accommodation to some of the band members, I reluctantly agreed to take a temporary hiatus from touring. . . The other members have never seriously talked to me about my leaving the band permanently."

Carlos, who founded the band with Nielsen and Tom Petersson in 1973, says that he wasn't the only one shocked by his absence on the new Cheap Trick track: "The Special Olympics was as surprised by this as I was. . . they had no idea I wasn't on the record. And, I don't want them to lose an opportunity to support this great cause because of this. . . But Tom, Rick, and Robin (Zander) simply can't make a recording without me and call it Cheap Trick. . . (I'm) looking after my interests in Cheap Trick and doing my best to make sure we stand for what is great about rock n' roll."

Ringo Starr claims that despite the promotion, he's not on the new archival release Rory Storm & The Hurricanes Live At The Jive Hive, which is said to feature a pre-fame 1960 Liverpool gig by the band. Ringo told Beatlefan magazine: "It's not me, that was done after I'd left to join the Beatles. I don't know . . .who the drummer was but I hope that Rory fans enjoy it anyway. The only two tracks I was on were recorded while we were in Germany in 1960, when we made a two track acetate, and for those of you in the digi world that is 'a-ce-tate,' of 'Mailman Bring Me No More Blues,' a Buddy Holly song sang by Lou Walters, and 'Fever' -- and I'd love to hear those tracks 'cause I don't have a copy. Peace & Love, Ringo."

The Eagles' Glenn Frey has one last solo date on the books for this fall. Frey, who released the critically acclaimed After Hours standards set this spring, will perform on November 10th at Clearwater, Florida's Ruth Eckerd Hall. A week later, the Eagles will play their final show of 2012 on November 17th at Las Vegas' MGM Grand Garden Arena.

Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart will receive the 2,481st star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on September 25th in front of the Musician's Institute at 6752 Hollywood Boulevard. Guest speakers at the ceremony will be Alice In Chains' Jerry Cantrell and Mike Inez and actress Rita Wilson.

The band's joint autobiography -- Kicking And Dreaming: A Story Of Heart, Soul And Rock & Roll, will be published on September 18th. Their new studio album, Fanatic, will be released on October 2nd.

Heart performs on Friday (September 14th) in Hutchinson, Kansas at the Kansas State Fair Grandstand.
