Kenny Rogers will release his autobiography, called Luck Or Something Like It, on October 2nd. The legendary singer reflects on the highs, lows and everything in between, from his poor childhood in Houston to his 50-year career as a superstar.
While difficult to pick his favorite memory, Kenny tells us that one of the stand out moments of his career was early on as a member of singing group First Edition. "There are moments that you really realize that you have done something in your life. And specifically I remember when I was with the First Edition and we were on The Ed Sullivan Show. And I remember when I was a kid I would watch The Ed Sullivan Show, and to me, those were stars. We were out singing "Just Dropped In To See What Condition My Condition Was In" and in the middle of the song I remember thinking, 'This is pretty cool.'"
Luck Or Something Like It also touches on Kenny's many famous friends, including Elvis Presley, Dolly Parton, Ray Charles, Dottie West and Lionel Richie.
