Gwyneth Paltrow is said to be behind an upcoming jukebox musical featuring the Go-Go's classic '80s hits. The Hollywood Reporter posted that the actress is now in talks to produce the show with Donovan's son, actor Donovan Leitch, and Rick Ferrari and is currently in negotiations "with a number of Broadway scribes to write the book" for the musical. According to the report, the Go-Go's are involved in the project -- which is still in the early stages -- and are considering contributing new material for the still-unnamed project.
Go-Go's guitarist Jane Wiedlin told us that she has amazing memories of her and lead singer Belinda Carlisle forming the band: "Belinda and I were part of the original Hollywood punk rock scene in the mid-'70s, and pretty much all of our friends had bands. Most of them were in more than one band and there was hardly anyone left that wasn't in a band -- except for some girls. It was kind of a natural thing. Like the girls came together and said, well, we could just do this, too."
