Fomer Price Chopper Manager Sues Grocer Over Wage Dispute
A former manager at Price Chopper is taking the grocery chain to federal court over wage issues.
The former manager filed the lawsuit in Massachusetts, where she worked at three different Price Chopper locations. The lawsuit alleges Price Chopper required department managers to work more than 40 hours a week without paying them overtime.
The lawsuit says the former store manager routinely worked more than 45 hours a week without getting overtime pay.
The woman is seeking class-action status for the suit. If approved and the case is decided in her favor other department managers would be entitled to recover unpaid wages.
Price Chopper, based in Schenectady, has 136 stores in New York, Vermont, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and New Hampshire. The chain has one store locally in the Cortlandville Crossing Shopping Plaza.
