Cortland Man Arrested After Driving Drunk and Hitting Parked Car
A Cortland man is facing D-W-I and other charges after hitting a parked car on Evergreen Street yesterday.
Cortland City Police have charged 20 year old Jordan Southworth of 35 Miller Street with misdemeanor counts of D-W-I, reckless criminal mischief, and reckless endangerment.
Cortland Police say around 10:30 last night Southworth was operating a vehicle on Evergreen Street when he crashed into a parked car. When the owner came out to inspect the damage, Southworth sped off nearly striking the individual.
Southworth was later stopped on Stockton Place and was found to be under the influence of alcohol. Southworth was also ticketed for not wearing a seatbelt, and failure to keep right.
Southworth was awaiting arraignment in City Court today.
Southworth was also arrested earlier in the day on Thursday. State Police charged him with unlawful possession of noxious material as the result of a complaint in the parking lot of the Walmart Store in Cortlandville.
