Cortland and Surrounding Counties Awarded Homeland Security Funds

Cortland County has been awarded a nearly $24 thousand dollar Emergency Management grant. The money is part of $185 million in homeland security grants.
Governor Cuomo announced the funding Wednesday.
Last month, it was announced that Cortland County was awarded just over $89 thousand dollars to support the 9-1-1 Center. The county applied for $600 thousand dollars to help fund new computer aided dispatch software in the 9-1-1 Center. The county is spending $1 million dollars to update the system.
Tompkins County was awarded $500 thousand dollars to fund updates to it's 9-1-1 system.
Tompkins County was also awarded $43 thousand dollars to support Emergency Management operations
Cayuga County was awarded $72 thousand dollars to partner with Cortland and Tompkins County and support regional hazardous materials response teams.
