A Truxton man has been ticketed for following too closely in connection with chain reaction crash involvng a Homer School bus on Route 13 yesterday afternoon.
Just before 4 o'clock Tuesday afternoon Homer Firefighters and State Police responded to a crash involving two cars and a Homer School bus on Route 13 near the entrance to the OCM BOCES campus.
According to Troopers, the bus was stopped at a home and was preparing to drop off a student when it was rear ended by two cars. At the time of the crash there were 22 elementary students on the bus.
Troopers say 20 year old Jacob Fuerherm of Truxton ran into the back of car driven by 70 year old Charlotte Haskins of East Homer forcing her car into the rear of the bus. Haskins was taken to the Cortland Regional Medical Center for evaluation, her 91 year old passenger was uninjured.
Homer Schools Superintendent Nancy Ruscio responded to the scene. She said the students were all being evaluated by the school nursing staff. There were no reported injuries.
Route 13 between Locust ave. and Lorings Crossing was closed for close to an hour following the crash.
