Cortland Women Accused of Allowing Young Children to Wander Off
Two Cortland women are facing child endangerment charges after allowing their young children to wander unattended.
Cortland City Police have arrested two mothers in seprate endangerment cases.
City Police say they arrested 30 year old Sara Carman of 10 N. Cliffe Road apt 505 Tuesday monring after she allowed her 5 year old son to wander off unattended, the boy was found on Pendelton Street. The child was unharmed, Child Protective Services were called in. Carman was ticketed and is due in court.
In a separarte case, Police arrested 27 year old Michelle Downes of 14 East Ave. on a misdemeanor charge of endangering the welfare of a child after she allowed her 3 year old son to wander alone on Central Ave. The boy was not hurt and Protective Services were contacted to review the matter.
