Cortland County Man Facing Felony D-W-I and Other Charges
A Town of Cincinnatus man is facing felony D-W-I and other charges following a traffic stop last weekend.
Cortland County Sheriff's Deputies have charged 44 year old Gary Kouril of 6097 Baldwin Corners Road, with felony counts of DWI and aggravated unlicensed operation.
Last Saturday night an Officer observed Kouril traveling west on Taylor Valley Road, the deputy says he was swerving across the center line of the roadway and the fog line nearly striking an oncoming vehcile.
The Deputy attempted to stop Kouril, he pulled into the driveway of an empty home and tried walking away from the vehicle.
Kouril was found to be intoxicated. He was charged with a felony count of DWI because of a previous driving while intoxicated conviction within 10 years. Police say he also has a pending driving while intoxicated charge.
Kouril was also operating a vechile that did not have a an ignition Interlock Device which he is required to have due to his previous drunk driving conviction, he faces a Misdemeanor charge for not having the device.
Kouril was also cited for failure to keep right, driving across hazardous markings and refusal to submit to a breath screening all violations.
Kouril was arraigned in the Town of Taylor Court and was sent to the Cortland County Jail on $500.00 Cash bail or $1,000.00 Bond. Mr. Kouril is to appear in the Town of Taylor Court on May 21, 2014 at 6:00 pm for further proceedings.
