The fill the boot campaign Saturday which coincided with the SUNY Cortland commencement ceremonies raised over $4800 dollars, City Firefghter Drew Hill says the money is used to send local children with muscular dystrophy to an accessible summer camp in Rush, NY for a week.
Noah Cole of Cortland has attended the camp, he says the facilities are great and he has a lot of fun. Cole says the best part is that you can forget about your disability and just have a good time.
The Cortland City Fire Department has been working to raise funds for the Muscular Dystrophy Association for the past decade.
