Heavy Rains Lead to Floodwatch in Cortland County

A flash flood watch is in effect for Cortland and surrounding counties today, the watch remains in effect until tonight.
A cold front is moving across the region today, bringing with it a soaking rain.
According to the weather service, Rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches could cause flooding along small streams or in poor drainage areas.
Highs are expected to reach the lower 80s, gusty winds around 30 mph. Area fire departments responded to multiple reports of trees and wires down yesterday due to high winds.
