Unemployment at 5 Year Low in NYS

New York State's unemployment rate has dropped to its lowest level in 5 years.
The state Labor Department reports that the unemployment rate in April dropped to to 6.7 percent, while it is a five year low it is above the national average of 6.3 percent.
There were significant gains in nonfarm jobs over the last year, but those gains were offset by continued losses in the the manuafacturing sector.
Manufacturing lost nearly 6 thousand jobs since April of last year, more than any other industry sector.
