Cortlandville Car Dealer Pleads Not Guilty to Felony Tax Evasion Charges
The owner of a local car dealership who was arrested last fall for not paying more than $50 thousand dollars in state sales tax and income tax returns appeared in County Court Monday, he faces five felony charges.
 
On Monday, 47 Joseph Fezza,  owner and sole proprietor of JF Auto World on Route 13 in Cortlandville pled not guilty to felony counts of grand larceny, criminal tax fraud and repeated failure to file personal income tax returns.
 
A Grand Jury indictment says from March 1, 2004 to Sept. 20, 2009, Fezza failing to pay more than $50,000 in sales taxes on vehicles sold during that time period, he is also accused of failing to file quarterly tax returns and several years of personal income tax returns.
 
Fezza pled not guilty to all charges, if convicted he faces 5 to 15 years in prison.
