Vehicle Stop in Dryden Turns Up Loaded Pistol
A South Carolina man was arrested in the Town of Dryden Friday for possessing a pistol without a permit.
 
State Police stopped a vehicle Friday on Route 13 for a having a headlight out.
 
During the stop, the driver 32 year old Charles E. Smith of Charlotte, S.C. was found to have a loaded Taurus .38 caliber revolver in his vehicle.
 
Troopers say Smith did not possess a valid pistol permit in New York, he  was arraigned in the Dryden Town Court and remanded to the Tompkins County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail.
