Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced funding Wednesday for the  Child Care Block Grant program. The state will provide over $794 million worth of child care subsidies this year , that's an increase of $55 million over last year. The additional funding represents a nearly 7 and a half percent  increase from last year.

According to Cortland County Social Services Commissioner Kristen Monroe that's about $56 thousand dollars more than the previous years funding.
