Over 1 Thousand People Estimated at Saturday's Cortland Chill-A-Bration

The winners of Cortland's annual Chill-A-Bration chili cook-off have been announced.
Reigning champs the Deli Downtown have claimed the“Cortland Area’s Best Chili” award for their Alice’s White Chicken Chili recipe. This is the second year in a row this recipe has won. The Butternut Squash Chili that the Community Restaurant cooked up was a close second, followed by Frosted with their Dessert Chili.
A second category was added this year to determine the best non-chili item offered, known as the “Favorite Winter Flavor” award, the ballots in this new category were evenly split evenly between The Gable Inn’s Old time Birch Beer Float and Maria’s Original Baklava; resulting in a tie.
Mugs and tasting tickets sold out within the first hour of the event, and planners estimate well over 1,000 visited downtown for the event.
