McGraw Woman Sentenced to Probation for Welfare Fraud and D-W-I
A McGraw woman who admitted to stealing over $8 thousand dollars worth of public assistance she was not entitled and admitted to driving drunk twice last year was sentenced Tuesday to 5 years of probation.
46 year old Lisa-Marie LaBouf of 5 ½ Elm St., McGraw was arrested back in December and charged with two felony counts of offering a false Instrument for filing, a felony charge of welfare fraud, and a felony count of grand larceny.
County Sheriff’s Investigators say from October 2012 to October 2013 the LaBouf submitted fraudulent documents regarding her household income.
LaBouf received welfare benefits in excess of $8000.00 that she was not entitled to.
In addition LaBouf was also stopped in June and October last year by Cortland Police and found to be driving under the influence of alcohol, she was also facing separate D-W-I charges.
LaBouf pled guilty to a felony charge of D-W-I and a felony charge of filing a false instrument, in exchange she was sentenced to probation in both cases.
