Cortland Man Charged With Possessing Synthetic Pot
A Cortland man has been charged with possessing synthetic marijuana under Cortland Counties synthetic marijuana law.

Cortland County Sheriff's Deputies have charged 31 year old  William Miles of 2 Squires St., Cortland with misdemeanors including criminal impersonation, obstructing governmental administration, and possession of synthetic marijuana.
Last Sunday morning Sheriff's Deputies stopped a vehicle in the Village of Marathon.
During the stop Miles, who was a passenger in the car, is accused of providing police with a fake name.
The Officer was able to figure out who Miles was and that he had pending arrest warrants issued from the City of Cortland.
When Miles was taken into custody Deputies found synthetic Marijuana in the vehicle.
Cortland County passed a law in 2012 that banned the possession and sale of synthetic marijuana.
Miles was arraigned in Marathon Town Court and sent to the Cortland County Jail on  $500.00 cash or $2,000.00 bond , the investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible.
