Suspect in Norwich Gun Theft Died of Hypothermia & Drugs
State Police say a man who was found dead in a wooded area in Norwich last week died as a result of drug overdose and hypothermia
29 year old Christopher Gonzalez was wanted in connection with two separate burglaries at Mayhood's Sporting Goods store in Norwich. 26 guns including 22 handguns and 6 long guns were taken during the break-ins.
State Police said Gonzalez body was found Friday in a wooded area off of Guinn Ridge Road in the Town of Norwich.
An autopsy determined that Gonzalaez died of hypothermia, the review also found drugs in his system, Police are ruling his death as accidental.
State Police have located all the missing guns.
Gonzalez was identified as a suspect in connection with two break-ins at Mayhood's within a nine hour period on Jan. 6 and 7.
25 year old Brandy L. Bousson of Norwich is facing a felony burglary charge in connection with the burglaries.
Bousson is currently being held on $250,000 cash bail.
