A home in the Town Scott near the south end of Skaneateles Lake is a total loss following a fire there this (Friday) morning.
Just before 10 o'clock today Homer Firefighters were called to 6925 Grout Brook Road for a reported house fire.
The call came in through the Onondaga county 9-1-1 Center, the caller reported the home to be fully engulfed.
Homer Fire chief Mahlon Irish Jr. arrived on the scene to find the 1 ½ story home with attached garage fully ablaze.
Rescuers worked to contain the fire as best they could.
A woman living in the home was able to get out, she sustained smoke inhalation and was taken to the Cortland Regional Medical Center for treatment. A Homer firefighter also injured his hand at the scene, he was treated and released.
The home is assessed at $83,200 it's owned by Peter and Sharon Andrus who list a Texas Address. No word on what sparked the fire, the County Fire Investigation Team was called in to review the scene.
In addtion to Homer; Cortlandville, Spafford, and Preble Firefighters responded to the scene.
