Cortland Man Charged With Assault Following Domestic Dispute
A Cortland man is facing multiple charges following a domestic assault, he is accused of beating and choking a woman and holding her against her will.
Cortland City Police have charged 22 year old Jonathan Glennon of 9 Duane Street Apt.1 with misdemeanor charges including criminal obstruction of breathing, two counts of criminal mischief, assault, unlawful imprisonment, and aggravated unlicensed operation. Glennon was also charged with a vehicle and traffic violation of unlicensed operation.
City Police say early Saturday morning Glennon is accused of being involved in a fight with a 26 year old woman. During the fight Glennon is accused of punching the woman and slamming her head into a wall. At some point Glennon choked the woman and forced her into a car, he drove around and continued to assault the woman and prevented her from calling police.
At some point Glennon drove his car into the front porch of his home causing some damage.
Glennon was arraigned on the charges and sent to the County Jail on $2 thousand dollars cash, he was due back in Court today.
