Cortland Man Arrested For Stealing Safe From Cortland Seafood Store
A Cortland man is facing burglary and other charges after he broke into the Cortland Seafood store early Thursday morning.

City Police have charged 33 year old Jeremy Kolas of 79 Central Ave., with a felony count of burglary, misdemeanor charges of petit larceny and criminal mischief.
 
Police say they responded to the Cortland Seafood store at 65 Pendleton Street just after 4:30 Thursday morning after a witness spotted Kolas walk out the front door carrying a safe.
 
Police apprehended Kolas, they say he broke into the store by smashing a rear window on the building. Once inside Kolas took paper towels, cigarette lighters, and other items including a small safe.
 
Police say there was no money in the safe, Kolas was arraigned in City Court and sent to the County Jail on $5 thousand dollars cash or $10 thousand dollars bond.
