City Police Looking For Driver in Hit & Run Crash on Elm Street
Cortland City police are investigating a hit and run accident that occurred on Elm Street last night that put a 60 year old man in the hospital.
Around 5:30 last night City Police and Firefighters responded to a report of a hit and run accident near 15 Elm Street.
Police say witnesses reported that the man was crossing Elm Street between Church and Greenbush Streets when he was hit by a small silver car that was traveling eastbound on Elm Street.
The driver of the car did not stop, the unidentified victim was found in the road; he was breathing but was not conscious. The man sustained a laceration to the back of his head and was taken to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse for treatment.
Police say they are looking for the silver car, which may have windshield damage.
