Town of Pitcher Woman Charged in the Death of 3 Month Old
Chenango County Sheriff's Deputies have arrested a Town of Pitcher woman in connection with the death of a 3-month-old child she was caring for. The baby died back in early September.
38 year old Geneia Rood of Pitcher was arrested Tuesday and charged with second degree manslaughter.
Police responded to a home on Baumann Road in Pitcher back on Sept. 5, emergency responders found the child dead. Rood was babysitting the child at the time of her death.
Chenango Sheriff's Deputies have identifed the child as 3 month old Brenna Quinn.
Police say an autopsy of the infants body found alcohol in her system, Quinn's death has been ruled a homicide.
Rood was arraigned in Chenango County Court and remanded to the Chenango County Jail on $50,000 cash bail.
Rood is scheduled to appear in Pitcher Town Court on Nov.18.
