Cortland Police Charge Two Men For Possessing Synthetic Pot
Two men have been arrested by Cortland City Police for possessing synthetic marijuana.
Cortland City Police stopped a vehicle on Clinton Avenue around 7 o’clock Friday night after the driver failed to stop at the intersection of Clinton and Rickard Street.
The driver 31 year old William Miles of 14 Port Watson Street was found to driving without a license, a search of the vehicle turned up 56 bags of synthetic marijuana.
A passenger in the vehicle 30 year old Joseph Holl of 12 ½ Fulton Street, Homer was found with 4 grams of synthetic marijuana.
Both Miles and Holl were charged with possession of synthetic marijuana; which is a misdemeanor. Miles charged with driving without a license.
Both men were ticketed and released; Cortland County lawmakers adopted a ban on synthetic marijuana back in June of 2012. The charge carries up to a year in jail and a $1 thousand dollar fine.
