Storm Damage From Monday's High Winds Minor in Cortland County
Tuesday, October 8, 2013
Despite tornado warnings and predictions of damaging winds, damage from Monday’s storm was minimal.
Wind speeds reached more than 30 mile-per-hour yesterday and the area received about a half-an-inch of rain.
The wet warm weather led the National Weather Service to issue a tornado warning which was canceled several hours earlier than expected.
There were some reports of limbs down primarily in the southern portion of Cortland County.
The National Weather Service predicts clear to mostly sunny skies through the remainder of the week, with highs in the 60s and lows in the 40s.
