Cortland Memorial Foundation Gives $1.2 Million to CRMC For ICU Update
The Cortland Regional Medical Center has been given a $1.2 million gift from Cortland Memorial Foundation; the funds will be used for a new Intensive Care Unit.
The $1.2 million dollars award was presented Saturday night at the at the Harvest of Gold event held at the SUNY Cortland Alumni House.
The Cortland Memorial Foundation a not for profit group that was established in 1978 to generate community awareness of the hospital’s mission and to help raise funds to support the facility.
Stephen Franco, President of the Board of Directors for Cortland Memorial Foundation, says the new ICU unit will serve patients in need of vital cardiac care and skilled nursing care services.
The hospital is in the middle of a $5.5 million dollar renovation, almost half that cost is being covered with a state grant. The renovations include the Intensive Care, Telemetry, and Outpatient Observation Units on the third floor.
A spring 2014 completion is anticipated for the new ICU.
