Chenango Man Facing Charges After Damaging Home and Threatening Child With an Ax
A Chenango County man is facing charges; he’s accused of abusing a child under the age of 15.
 
According to the Chenango County Sheriff's Office, 39 year old James Wilber of the Town of Plymouth is facing charges including reckless endangerment, menacing, endangering the welfare of a child, and harassment.
 
Police say they responded to Wilber’s home after a child there called 9-1-1, Police say Wilbur kicked the child and threw items; he’s accused of using an ax to cause damage in the home. The child who is less than 15 fled to a neighbor’s home for help.
 
Wilber was arraigned on the charges and was sent to the Chenango County Jail on $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.
 
He will appear at a later date in the town of Plymouth court.
