Burns Clinches Primary Win With Absentee Ballots
The official results are in from the September 10th primary, in the City Judge’s race Democrat Elizabeth Burns has maintained her preliminary win over her fellow democrats.

The County board of elections tallied absentee ballots yesterday; Burns maintained her initial lead over democrats Ron Walsh and Mike Schaffer. Burns received 356 votes, Walsh trailed with 324 votes, Schaffer came in third with 269. The totals are consistent with the election night results.
Burns will now carry the democratic line in the general election, but all three candidates have secured independent lines on the November ballot.
All three are vying to replace retiring City Judge Tom Meldrim, the position carries a 10 year term and an annual salary of $120 thousand dollars.
