Freeville Man Facing Drug Charges After Tioga Traffic Stop
A Freeville man is facing several felony drug charges after a traffic stop in Tioga County.
According to the Tioga County Sheriff's Office, 22 year old Jason Rezek of 14 George Road, Freeville was pulled over for speeding on Glenmary Drive in the town of Tioga.
After noticing a strong odor of marijuana, deputies conducted a search of the vehicle and found 30 grams of methamphetamine, 38 packets of heroin, 35 grams of marijuana along with narcotic medication, hallucinogenic mushrooms, LSD, and $2,500 in cash. Electronic scales and packaging materials were also found.
Rezek is charged with two felony counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, misdemeanor criminal possession of marijuana in the fifth degree and criminally using drug paraphernalia in the second degree. He was also issued several traffic violations.
Additional felony charges are pending following the testing of the substances at the New York State Police forensic crime lab.
Rezek was arraigned and taken to the Tioga County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond.
He is scheduled to reappear in the Tioga Town Court on Oct. 9.
