As the New York Jets training camps winds down there are two public events aimed at promoting the community and getting fans excited.
Today the team is hosting a “Taste of Cortland” event, where a handful of local eateries are offering free food samples. Select area restaurants will offer free food samples today from 10:45 a.m. to 1 p.m.
On Wednesday the team will host Mascot Day, several local college mascots will be on hand to entertain fans. Mascots scheduled to attend Wednesday’s Mascot Day include SUNY Cortland’s Blaze the red dragon, SUNY ESF’s Oakie the acorn, Colgate University’s Raider and Le Moyne College’s Iggy the dolphin.
Practice for the final four days of camp is scheduled for 10 a.m. to noon, gates open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Admission remains free, with tickets printed from the Jets website required. Fans can register and print tickets by visiting newyorkjets.com/camp
The Jets Shop merchandise tent and Generation Jets Fest, an interactive theme park featuring skill challenges and inflatable rides for kids, will remain open 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
