Homeless Ithaca Man Arrested For Threatening Others With a Machete
A homeless man in Ithaca is facing charges after threatening other homeless individuals with a machete.
Ithaca Police responded to the homeless encampment known as "The Jungle" on Saturday just after 5pm for a report of a man threatening with a machete.
 
45-year-old John E. Carle was taken into custody with incident, and faces charges for criminal weapon possession and menacing. Police recovered a machete and diver's knife.
 
Carle was arraigned in Ithaca City Court and remanded to the Tompkins County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash or $5,000 bail bond. He is due back in court on August 14.
