Elections Office Sending Out Voter Confirmation Cards Next Week
The Cortland County board of elections will begin mailing out post cards next week to inform voters of potential election district changes.
The Cortland County Board of Elections Office will be mailing yellow “mail check” post cards during the week of Aug. 5th.
With the reduction in the number of County Legislative Districts and other changes associated with redistricting, voters are urged to pay close attention to these mailings, as election districts and polling locations may have changed.
Elections officials will also be using this mass mailing as an opportunity to confirm voter addresses.
Those that receive a card for a person that no longer lives at a certain residence, the elections office asks that these cards be marked accordingly and placed back in the mail.
Those that do not receive a card, such as those that registered or changed their address during the past year are asked to contact the board of elections for registration information.
The Board of Elections, located on River Street in Cortland, is open on weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Primaries for members of the Democratic and Republican Parties will be held from noon until 9 p.m. on Sept. 10th.
