It’s expected to be a gorgeous day in Dryden where the annual Dryden Lake Festival is taking place.
The Dryden Lake Festival which oddly enough takes place at Dryden Lake features diverse offerings from art, food, beer, and sports.
The day will also include a Civil War re-enactment complete with Union and Confederate encampments, and a battle commemorating the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg, which included Dryden soldiers in the 76th Regiment.
There’s a triathlon, canoe course, kids’ fun run, a 5K race and a fishing contest. Sign-in and registration for the triathlon began at 5:30 this morning a.m. The fishing contest starts at 8:30 a.m.
The fun and games for the entire family start at noon, with family games, firefighter shows, a competition for the weirdest zucchini and an ice cream social. For those old enough to imbibe, Bacchus Brewery will offer tastings of locally made beers.
The day will conclude with a fireworks show over the lake.
