Two Cortland County Youth Figure Skaters To Compete In National Skating Competition

Two Cortland County Youth figure skaters have won the right to compete in a national figure skating competition.
14 year old Corrine Quail of Cortland and 12 year old Janice Grassie of Homer have both qualified for the The State Games of America, which begin on July 31st.
The Olympic-style event features State Games medal winners from across the country. This year it will be held in the Harrisburg-Hershey area with over 10,000 athletes from 41 states competing in 26 different sports.
Quail and Grassie are both members of the Cortland Figure Skating Club.
In order to be eligible to compete, Quail placed third in Pre-Juvenile Test Track Freestyle at the Empire State Games in Lake Placid.
Grassie also placed third in Pre-Preliminary Test Track Freestyle at the Empire State Games, Grassie is not competing in the National Event.
