A flash flood watch is in effect for parts of central New York including Cortland County; this flash flood watch is in effect from Monday morning through Tuesday morning.
Starting this morning through Tuesday morning more showers and thunderstorms with heavy rain are expected to develop.
Heavy rain will continue into Tuesday, 1 to 2 inches of rain is likely with isolated higher amounts 2 to 4 inches.
With all the rain that has already occurred in the past week, this additional rain could cause more flooding or create flooding in already saturated areas. Heavy rain may cause localized flash flooding, urban and low lying areas could see moderate to heavy flooding. Rivers that are already running high could flood tonight into Tuesday.
