Cortland Police Have Property Recovered From Car Break-ins
Cortland Police are asking the public to let them know if they are missing any items from their vehicles following some car larcenies.
City police responded to the parking lot of the Port Watson Street Commons housing development around 1 o’clock this morning for a report of someone going through vehicles parked there.
Upon arrival police spotted 20 year Joshua Metcalf, when approached he fled the area. Metcalf who lists no home address was located and taken into custody, he was charged with obstructing of governmental administration; a misdemeanor.
Police say they found several items in Metcalf’s backpack believed to have been taken during the break-ins including a MIO brand GPS device, a Blackberry Touch cell phone, binoculars, a Nikon camera, and $12 dollars in change. 
Anyone who may be missing theses items are asked to call police at 758-8307.
