A Town of Freetown man is facing drug and other charges after he was found in possession of the drug meth and the ingredients to manufacture the substance.
On Thursday members of the Cortland County Drug Task Force conducted a traffic stop in Cortlandville. During that stop police say they found 51 year old Arvin Strauf of 3143 McGraw- Marathon Rd. in possession of the items and materials used in the manufacture of methamphetamines, in addition to drug related paraphernalia.
Cortland County Investigator Troy Boice says Strauf also did not have a valid driver’s license.
Strauf was arrested and charged with unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine in the third degree a class D Felony, a felony charge of criminally using drug paraphernalia. Strauf was also charged with a misdemeanor count of aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and a misdemeanor count of unauthorized use of a police receiver in a private vehicle.
Strauf was arraigned in the Town of Cortlandville Court and remanded to the Cortland County Jail without bail.
Strauf was previously convicted of criminally using drug paraphernalia in back February of 2012 in Dryden Town Court.
Strauf is due back in court today for further proceedings.
