Saturday, March 23, 2013
Due to federal sequestration cuts two Central New York Airports could soon see their air traffic controllers cut.
One of those is right here in our back yard, the Ithaca Airport. The other is Griffiss International Airport up in Onieda County.
This is part of the annoucement the FAA made, saying they will close 189 contract air traffic control towers beginning April 7th , in order to save $637 million dollars.
