Tompkins and Cayuga Counties Awarded $2.2 Million Dollar Grant to Upgrade Internet Services

Residents living in rural areas of Tompkins and Cayuga County will see their access to high-speed internet service improve; the state has awarded a 2.2 million dollar grant to provide high-speed Internet access to underserved rural areas.
Dryden based internet provider Clarity Connect will use the money to bring high-speed internet access to the Towns of Groton, Ulysses, Enfield, and Newfield in Tompkins County. In Cayuga County the towns of Niles Scipio, Summerhill and Sempronius will benefit.
The project will also upgrade DSL speeds in the impacted areas.
