LaFayette Man Faces D-W-I Charge Following Crash With D-O-T Snowplow
A Lafayette man is facing D-W-I charges after colliding with a D-O-T plow truck early Saturday morning.
State Police say three people were sent to the hospital after following the crash which occurred on State Route 11 in Lafayette early Saturday morning.
State Police say 60-year old Michael Andrews was driving a State D.O.T plow and was coming from a salt garage. As he was turning onto State Route 11 from Moltion Road, a pick-up truck driven 22 year old Mitchell Sofranko of Lafayette crashed head-on into the plow truck.
Both Andrews and Sofranko, were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, a passenger in the pick-up truck 25 year old Brian Allen was taken to University Hospital with a possible broken hip..
Andrews and Sofranko have since been released from the hospital.
Andrews was issued a ticket for failure to yield the right of way. Sofranko has been charged with DWI and unsafe speed.
