Congressman Hanna Named Vice Chair to House Rail Subcommittee
Wednesday, January 23, 2013
U.S. Representative Richard Hanna (NY-22) today was appointed Vice Chairman of the Subcommittee on Railroads, Pipelines and Hazardous Materials.
Transportation & Infrastructure Chairman Bill Shuster (R-PA) made the announcement. Rep. Hanna plans to bring his experience passing a multi-year “highway bill” as the past Vice Chairman of the Highway Subcommittee to bear as this important subcommittee undertakes an aggressive legislative agenda.
The Subcommittee on Railroads, Pipelines and Hazardous Materials is tasked with reauthorizing federal railroad safety and infrastructure programs and modernizing passenger rail to be more cost-effective and increase private sector competition.
Earlier this month, Rep. Hanna was named Chairman of the Subcommittee on Contracting and Workforce on the House Small Business Committee.
