Syracuse Man Admits Stealing $2k Worth of Video's From Cortlandville Wal-Mart
A Syracuse man will spend 3 ½ to 7 years in state prison after he pled guilty to stealing over two thousand dollars worth of DVD’s from the Cortlandville Wal-Mart store.
Back in November Cortland County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested four Onondaga County residents after they attempted to steal from the Cortlandville Wal-Mart Store.
Police say the four suspects including 46 year old Kevin Washington of Syracuse went in to the store, selected a children’s high chair, removed the high chair from the box and filled the box with DVD's and Blu-Ray discs. They then put the box with the items in it back on the shelf and left the store. A short time later they returned and retrieved the box and left the store with over $2,000 worth of stolen videos.
Police have charged Washington and his codefendants with felony counts of burglary, grand larceny and a misdemeanor charge of conspiracy.
Yesterday, Washington pled guilty to the felony burglary charge, he has multiple felony convictions and faces a longer prison sentence due to those previous convictions.
Washington will be sentenced in February, he’s being held without bail.
