Crash on Route 41 in Homer Leads to Injury and Diesel Spill
Route 41 in Homer between the village and Route 41A was shut down for several hours last night following a crash involving a tractor trailer, a car, and a pick-up truck.

Homer Firefighters responded to the crash which occurred around 6:30 last night near the intersection of Route 41 and Anderson Drive.

According to Homer Fire Chief Mahlon Irish Jr. at least one person sustained minor injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment.

Irish was unsure what caused the crash; road conditions were clear at the time. The accident resulted in nearly 85 gallons of diesel fuel being spilled along Route 41.

The State D-E-C was called in to clean up the spill, it was believed that the spill was contained and none of the nearby streams or private wells were impacted. Route 41 runs through the Skaneateles Lake watershed, in addition Factory Brook which provides water to the village runs along Route 41.
