Genoa Woman Charged With Shoplifting at Cortlandville Walmart Found With Hypodermic Needle

A Cayuga County woman is facing charges after she was caught shoplifting at the Cortlandville Wal-Mart store, she was also found with a hypodermic needle.
39 year old Julie Metcalf of 2607 Ledyard Road Genoa was arrested Monday and charged with petit larceny and criminal possession of a hypodermic needle; both misdemeanors.
Cortland County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to the Wal-Mart store just before 3 o’clock Monday afternoon.
Police say Metcalf stole undisclosed items from the store and was also found to be in possession of a hypodermic needle.
Metcalf was arraigned at the Cortlandville Town Court and remanded to Cortland County Jail on $2,500 cash or $5,000 bond; she was due back in court Wednesday.
